Business Registers in Poland: KRS and CEIDG
Verifying whether a business partner is registered in Poland is a crucial step in ensuring the legitimacy of their operations and understanding their business structure in the country.
In Poland, you can verify if an entrepreneur operates through two main registers:
- KRS (National Court Register): Designed for businesses operating as commercial law companies.
- CEIDG (Central Register and Information on Economic Activity): Dedicated to sole proprietors.
Important Note: Civil partnerships in Poland are not registered in a central register. However, in some cases, partners may be required to obtain a REGON number, VAT registration, or report their activity if required by tax or industry regulations.
What is the National Court Register (KRS)?
The National Court Register (Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy, KRS) is a free and publicly accessible database.
